Dutch government creates incentive for electric vehicles

The Dutch government has earmarked the sum of 65 million euros to help establish the Netherlands as the international testing-ground for electric cars. It has also drawn up a plan to speed the introduction of electric cars onto the market. The Dutch government believes that the topography of Netherlands is ideally-suited for electric cars; distances are short, roads are flat and straight and the electricity network is good. Another key factor is that many of the leading suppliers of components for electric cars are Dutch companies.
