If that doesn’t create a bond, then what does? But seriously, like everyone else, the Dutch strive to find happiness, and the path to happiness, like everywhere else in the world, is strewn with many and varied challenges. Modern life has its own tensions, such as between work and leisure, between the natural environment and encroaching urbanisation, and between a longer life expectancy and a good quality of life.
