Knowledge takes root in the Netherlands
The economy of the Netherlands has a broad and solid base. Leading multinationals with worldwide operations, such as DSM, Philips, Shell and Unilever, have their roots in the Netherlands. Dutch industry includes a large number of innovative and knowledge intensive companies that enjoy a sound reputation the world over and that carry out a great deal of R&D (including the aforementioned multinationals).
